Nate Pears (Director, Lead Guide)
Nate grew up in western Pennsylvania fly fishing for trout and smallmouth bass. He is an avid fly tier and outdoors-man. While Nate enjoys fooling elusive trout, his favorite quarry with the fly rod is the smallmouth bass. He is also excited about the possibilities of pursuing muskie on the fly in the French Broad River located at Biltmore Estate. When he is without his fly rod Nate can usually be found kayaking the local rivers. Nate believes in stewardship and care of our waters; "We all live downstream." npears@nlwilson.com
Gordon Robbins (Vermont Guide)
Gordon has been fly fishing for more than 35 years, and still uses his original reel. He has fished many streams of North America and Europe and loves to outwit the wile trout in new places. He has coached athletes in sailing and snowboarding for many years and brings a strong teaching background to the river. He is constantly trying to tie a new pattern of fly to catch the native Vermont Brookie which he finds the most elusive and beautiful adversary. He emphatically believes "A trout is too precious to only be caught once." gordon@nlwilson.com
